In February, from the 18th until the 20th,
we had our midterm-training in Brahmani at the guesthouse "Debesus
bļoda". A beautiful and big house located in the middle of nowhere,
civilisation 20 km far away. There we met most of the volunteers from our
On-Arrival-Training again and got to know some new great volunteers from
Liepaja. After the first “Meet and Greet” we shared experiences. So we gave a
report from our projects as a newsreader of a news channel. At the evening we
sat together, played “Werewolf” and different guessing games, which drives you
totally crazy. Of course, we followed the hockey games in Sochi. We also worked
on our projects and connected a few. For example the German speaking volunteers
want to help at the “German week” in Daugavpils. We also had the question: How
it’s going to be when we come home? Because most of us have at least three
months here to live und life goes on after our voluntary service. At the second
evening we went to sauna, what we really liked. Outside we could relax in a Jacuzzi.
It was an awesome evening! The last day was about what plans we have and
evaluation and I can tell you: Hitchhiking with a beard is pretty difficult! ;)
It was quiet strange to find no pictures
in the IKEA-frames, especially because they make advertisement with weddings.
But the food was very delicious even if it wasn’t enough, what depended on the
national agency.
